Louis Malecot's airship in flight dragging a basket across the field. The basket was used for vertical steering. The basket was suspended by its two ends and hung some 60 feet below the keel. The vertical rudder at the rear of the airship provided horizontal steering.

Louis Malecot applied for a patent on a type of a mixed dirigible in several countries including the United States (US Patent 897,000 dating August 25, 1908). Malecot designed and flew this small non-rigid airship over Paris in 1908. With a four cylinder engine and a top speed of under 20 mph, it was just controllable in light winds.

Jean Teodoresco (1882-1916) was born in Romania in Chilia-Veche. His father was a painter. He was photographed on the balcony of the agency in July 1907. He became a photographer on his own account and worked for the Rol Agency. He married on December 19, 1908, the widow of Marcel Rol, Madeleine Praud. An aviator during the war, his plane crashed near Salonika on November 19, 1916.
