Labeled "J. & J.W. Meeks" American Rococo Revival Walnut and Marble-Top Coffee Table

third quarter 19th century, with a conforming white marble top, the table fitted with a drawer along one side and mounted to a trestle-form base joined by a carved stretcher, the interior of the drawer bearing the stenciled label, "J. & J.W. Meeks, Makers, No. 14 Vesey St., New York", reduced in height from a center table.

In as found condition. Sturdy. The marble has scattered old stains and ares of discoloration. There are also some short hairlines at the edges. Some small pieces of molding replaced at the corners. Refinished at one time.
