Description
Sheffield tall case clock cabinet, attributed to Samuel Smith, early to mid 19th century, executed in mahogany and satinwood, having a swan's neck pediment rising on columnar standards, the arched hand-painted dial decorated with Roman numerals framed by genre scenes of figures in period dress, rising on the string inlaid cabinet flanked by reeded stiles, the whole terminating in a plinth base, marked 'Sheffield' to dial, 93"h x 22.25"w x 10"d. Condition note: cabinet does not retain clockwork mechanism or glass face for bonnet.
