Description
A handwritten setlist in pink pen on a single lined cut-out sheet for 10 songs that begins with “Standing There” and ends with “Long Tall Sally.” The setlist was written by Neil Aspinall and was used by The Beatles at the K.B. Hallen in Copenhagen on June 4, 1964. The concert was The Beatles’ first night of their first ever world tour. John Lennon dictated the setlist to road manager Aspinall, who then wrote out the list. Aspinall himself has confirmed that it is his writing. He gave it to Lennon, who in turn gave it to drummer Jimmy Nicol, who subbed for Ringo Starr on the first leg of the tour and used this setlist for two shows that night. The list was taken at the end of the night by Torben Sardorf, drummer of the Danish warm-up band The Hitmakers. Accompanied by a copy of a letter from Sardorf stating that he saw Lennon hand the setlist over to Nicol, who placed it on the bass drum. After the second concert, Sardorf took it from there as a memory of a great night.
