Description
BEAD DECORATED SHEATH. Knife measures 11" overall w/ 6" blade made from scrap. Bone has scrimshaw geometric decoration. Sheath is all sinew sewn, decorated in white seed bead ground, w/ red, green & blue decoration. Trimmed w/ a row of tin cone pendants w/ red died horsehair, collection or institutional painted numbers are found on knife & sheath. Nineteenth century. CONDITION: good to very good overall, bone grip has large chip at top, sheath is sound w/ loss of one row of white seed beads. (02-14579/JS). $1,500-2,000.
