The elegantly penned manuscript letter announces a Royal marriage and states, in part, 'It is with lively satisfaction that I inform Your Excellency of the marriage of my beloved nephew His Royal Highness Prince Ferdinand of Romania, heir presumptive to the Crown, with Her Royal Highness Princess Marie Alexandra Victoria of Great Britain and Ireland, daughter of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh. This union, which crowns the desires of my heart and has been welcomed with feelings of lively and sincere joy by my people who see therein the consecration of its dearest wishes, was solemnly celebrated on the 10th of this month, at the Castle of Sigmaringen….'
