Description
A rare piece of the edge of the external Kiswah of Ka'ba during the Mamluk Period, in a very thick dark olive color, and with traces of sewing. size 104 X 20 cm.During the Mamluk Period, the Ka'ba was covered with black brocade from the top of the Kaaba to the bottom. In the Mamluk era the Kaaba was covered once a year at the time of the Hajj season. The kiswah was carried to it from the Royal Treasury in Egypt, Al Ashraf and Banu Shaybah, the holders of Ka'aba Keys, take and share the old Kiswah, they receive a good compensation for every piece, they give some pieces to pilgrims, and the pilgrims take them to their different countries.
