Description
Late 19th century, 287 x 160 cm, South West Persia, Fars
Like a desert island, a red spider gül lies at the centre of an empty white field decorated along the inner sides with small halved diamonds in different variations of colour. Very finely woven in colours of supreme quality, the kilim is a product of the Kashkuli tribe. It shows barely any signs of wear and was probably always treasured by the nomads. – Very good condition except for one small hole.
