19th Century Ibeji Yoruba Female Twin Statue with Beads. Features a yellow glass trade seed bead necklace, Yoruba zig-zag blue and purple facet cut glass trade bead waist belt, hand carved zig-zag scarification on the back, traditional identification facial scarification and 3 symmetrical triple cut patterns scarification to the abdomen; coifed with a Yoruba crown pigmented in purple. Red 'David Howard Tribal Arts' sticker; sticker reads 'Yoruba Twin'. Circa 1890. {Approximate dimensions: 9 1/8 high x 3 wide x 2 3/4 inches deep.}. Ex-collection Dimondstein Tribal Arts, Joshua Dimondstein, 11041 Santa Monica Blvd. #701, Los Angeles, CA 90025. Exhibited at the Caskey Lees San Francisco Tribal and Textile Arts Show; Fort Mason, 2010. Condition: Overall wear appropriate for tribal use, crack to the chest and back, crack next to the right foot.
