Franklin Mint 10,000 grain Sterling Silver Ingot. 10,000 grains (20.83 troy ounces) Sterling Silver Ingot Minted by the Franklin Mint. Cast from the last lot of silver in the U.S. Treasury which was sold at a historic auction. This was the last 1.6 million ounces of available silver bullion and it was sold in a sealed bid process on November 10, 1970. The Franklin Mint was the successful bidder for the entire lot with a bid of $2,875,000. Ingots were minted with a portion of this last lot of silver. The reverse inscription on each ingot certifies that the silver contained therein is wholly from the last silver lot. Measures:4-3/4" x 1-7/8" x 3/8". Silver Ingot numbered #5970. Green toning. The original box come with this item.
