German Painted Iron Christmas Tree Stand, Probably Harz Mägdesprunger Ironworks, Late 19th/Early 20th Century
Cast with 'D.R.G.M.',no. '8086', icicles and edelweiss.
8 1/2 x 14 x 14 in. (overall), the aperture 2 in. diam. (the interior).
Note: The model lacks a water reservoir as the tradition at the time was to harvest the tree December 24th to decorate and was taken down shortly after new year. Feather trees, the forerunner to artificial trees were also popular at this time and used in stands like this one.

Expected wear and losses to the surface which is likely original. Oxidation consistent with age and use. The legs detach for flat storage. Nice aged patina and in good condition.
