BRASS AND WROUGHT-IRON TRIVETS, LOT OF TWO, one of pierced phoenix design with turned wooden handle, tripod base, and penny feet, the other with sundial pattern and tripod base marked "RT". Together with a pair of wrought-iron andirons with brass finials. Four pieces total. 18th/19th century. Andirons 19" HOA, 19 1/2" LOA.
Good overall condition with expected usage wear, wooden handle on phoenix trivet with moderate wear and losses.
Provenance: From the Maury Lloyd Hanson, Jr. Revocable Trust for the Nature Conservancy, to be used solely for acquisition of land in the Piedmont and Shenandoah Valley areas of Virginia.Ladle purchased from Gilpin House Antiques, Alexandria, VA, 8/22/70.
