Sharps New Model 1863 .50-70 Govt. falling block carbine. Carbine features walnut stock, 22" 3-groove rifled barrel, and saddle ring. Barrel marked: "New Model 1863." Right side of receiver reads: "R.S. Lawrence Pat. April 12th 1859," and "Sharps' Pat. Oct. 5th 1852." Left side of receiver reads: "Sharps' Pat. Sept. 12th 1848." "EF" inspectors cartouche on left side of stock near saddle ring. Left side of barrel shank is stamped: "F E.A.W." Serial number on tang reads: "C, 16452."

Condition

Very good. Bright bore, strong rifling. Metal surfaces show deep gray patina. Stock shows some minor handling wear and scratches. Smooth, crisp action. Mechanically excellent.
