Rare original sculpted cast model of an Orangutan bust, created for the Bronx Park/ Bronx Zoo Wild Life exhibit in 1923.
Interior marked: Bronx Park, June 7, 1923.
Sculpted at the Bronx Zoo art studio during the 1920s......possibly by the artist Alexander Phimister Proctor who was a working artist at the Bronx Zoo casting wild life animals.
Dimensions: H: 13 1/2 in., W: 16 in., D: 10 in.
Condition: very good original condition, age appropriate.
Provenance: private estate.

Many of these cast models from the Bronx Zoo during the 1920s-1930s were discarded or destroyed.
