Description
NATIVE AMERICAN / EASTERN WOODLANDS PIPE TOMAHAWK, forged steel head with triangular blade bearing "H. P." touch mark, raised geometric decoration, inlaid brass "X" within parallel lines, and barrel form pipe bowl, hardwood handle drilled through for pipe, with inlaid pewter geometric bands running the length of the shaft, shaped mouthpiece, pewter end cap. Early surface. Reserve. Late 18th/first quarter 19th century. 16" LOA, Head 6" WOA.
Very good overall condition, lacking pewter inlay to lower end of handle, and possibly cover for mouthpiece.
