Large Chinese Blanc de Chine Dehua porcelain statue, modeled as Guanyin, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion. Depicted holding a lotus ruyi in her left hand, with her right hand raised in the Abhaya Mudra, the "gesture of fearlessness" which, in Buddhism, represents protection, peace, benevolence, and dispelling fear. Presented on a stylized, hand carved and decorated, five footed dark wooden base. Good overall condition with normal age related wear. Measures 20 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. x 6 in.
