Description
Tennessee Williams, The Rose Tattoo, First Edition, First Printing
New Directions, (New York), 1950. First Edition, First Printing, second issue binding in pale green cloth. A very bright copy of this popular play and basis for the 1955 Daniel Mann film starring Anna Magnani in her Oscar-winning portrayal of a widow wooed by truck driver Burt Lancaster.
The book is in near fine condition with sharp corners, clean cloth and no edgewear. The dust jacket is trimmed, appearing as 1/4" too short for the book, or, it may be that the second issue binding is instead a tad longer than the first issue in rose cloth. Otherwise, the jacket is in fine condition with strong vibrant colors and is not price clipped, correctly showing the $3.00 price on the inner flap.
