Description
An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver twin handled sugar bowl, Isfahan circa 1910 Qajar dynasty, of ovoid form with a moulded rim, with cut and applied pointed handles heightened with engraved decoration. The body with deep chased monabbat-kari figures in a continuous frieze depicting fishermen, hunters on horseback, hounds, peacocks and goats. All below a border of pedimented foliate forms and rosettes, the base with chased fluting and a simple scrolling border. Unmarked. Length – 11.3 cm / 4.5 inches Weight – 139 grams / 4.47 ozt
