Description
An early 20th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver covered milk jug, Kashmir circa 1930 Raj period, of octagonal form with curved base, the spout opposite a squared off handle. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a domed finial. All over decorated with chased coriander pattern. Length – 14 cm / 5.5 inches Weight – 229 grams / 7.36 ozt "In the 1930s a further curious hybrid developed incorporating aspects of the newly popular Art Deco into traditional designs."
