THREE SEMI ANTIQUE BELUCH GOAT HAIR AND WOOL CAMEL SADDLE BAGS, BALOCHISTAN, 20TH CENTURY, one example with horizontal repeating pattern including checkerboard, barberpole, stiff crenelated motifs, a four blade pinwheel or flower bloom, and braided goat or camel hair loops; the second example has a lattice geometric flower bloom pattern, within stiff repeating vines, and with bone toggles; the third example on a bright orange ground with central flowering diamond flanked by tent or lappet shapes, within a sawtooth border, surrounded by brightly colored yarn tassels, each approximately 48" x 22". Note: The Baluchistan region spans across modern day Afghanistan, Iran, and Pakistan. A historically nomadic peoples, the Baluchi peoples are predominately followers of Sunni Islam. Provenance: Property from a Fortune 500 Energy Company, Houston, Texas.
Condition
Soil throughout, some fading, surface wear, a few frays, some rubbing but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
