This lot consists of an etching by realistic landscape painter George Knaus (American, 1928-2015). "George Knaus" is signed at lower right along with the graphite inscription "From Numeral Rock" and "3/50". Overall framed dimensions measure approximately 22.5" x 27.75" / Image (plate) size measures approximately 18" x 24".

George Knaus (1928-2015) was an observational master. His landscapes are replete with the exploration of both space and composition; Knaus was equally enamored with the various media he employed as he was with the final product. George Knaus studied Painting and Printmaking at the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School. He was a teaching artist in Falls River, Connecticut and Kent, Connecticut. George Knaus lived and painted in Gardiner, New York.
