Item Details

Description

Superlative example of a 19th Century American splint wall pocket basket in original paint.
The basket is woven with alternating horizontal rows of one wide splint and then two narrow splints. The rim of the pocket is wrapped, as is the hanging loop.
Excellent original condition with no broken splints, in the original sage green paint.
It would be hard to find a better example of an American wall pocket basket.
Measures about 8" high x 9 1/2" wide x 5" deep.
