A circa late 19th Century German stoneware stein drinking vessel with incised encircling polychrome decorated scene of Tyrolean style huntsmen in a forest landscape with a cook fire and pot. Pewter lid and handle with raised relief design of a cloaked and hooded figure. Lid has incised hand colored decoration of fish and root flora. Bottom stamped with Villeroy & Boch Mettlach stamp for circa 1895. Incised mark 1L near rim, for one liter. Good overall condition with minimal wear. Measures 10 1/2 in. x 6 1/2 in. x 4 1/2 in.
