Nautical Marine 19th C. Antique 26" Ship's Lantern

Item Details

Description

A large and impressively crafted circa 19th Century maritime ship's cargo lamp. Handcrafted from sheet metal with hinged cover. Colorless 360 degree ribbed pattern globe with vertical wire guards. There are two gashes in the glass to either side from a previous use related trauma which gouged but did not shatter this sturidily constructed piece of nautical history. Incised mark to side MANUFACTURED BY RUSSELL & WATSON. Converted to electric, with wiring. Untested, may require electrical service. Good to fair condition with minor to moderate denting, age related wear, and as noted above. Measures 26 in. x 12 in. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship.
