Description
Collection of (17) original photographs of the earliest American film studios. Seventeen gelatin-silver prints, 8" x 10" each, depicting a variety of early film studios and backlots including Champion-Coytesville and Biograph in Ft. Lee, New Jersey, the birthplace (ca. 1896) of film-making on a large scale in America. Others depict the development of Hollywood with construction of Columbia and Universal City. Some contain descriptive snipes, and generally condition is fine, with minor handling and occasional corner chipping. Highly recommended for prospective bidders to view in person.
