1754 Tirion Engraved Map of America Etching on hand laid paper
New map of the Western part of the world, to illustrate the Dutch sea voyages to West India.
Map of the Americas, with the edge of Europe and Africa to the right, and the edge of Siberia to the left.
New Map of the Westernmost part of the World, serving as an indication of the Shipping trips of the Dutch to West Indie
Excellent map of America, featuring an unusual northwest coast of America, which includes Martin d'Aguilar's strait which provides for a Northwest Passage via the Great Lakes.
The rest of the NW coast is virtually due North, with notations regarding Russian explorations in 1743. California is a Peninsula, with annotations regarding Quivira or Teguaio.
Evidence of the claims of the various British and French colonies throughout, especially along the Eastern Seaboard.
Made by Isaak Tirion after an anonymous artist.
Isaak Tirion, a Dutch publisher in Amsterdam, was born 1705.
He produced several Atlases and Dutch town plans.
He died in 1765.
