This highly collectible piece is finely crafted in solid 14K Yellow Gold in the shape of African Prince (traditionally called "Blackamoor"). The gold tester showed 18K but to be safe we would say it is 14K gold (carefully tested and guaranteed). The brooch or pin is composed of a man's head with a turban adorned with a rough diamond and coral, and V shaped vest is set with 9 natural Rubies, sapphire cabochons, and pearls. The coral measures 6mm x 6mm. The diamond is about .08 carat. The rubies are 1mm each. Each sapphire cabochon is 5mm, and each pearl is 3.8mm. All gemstones are original to the setting and in excellent vintage condition. Black and white enamel is in great condition. The clasp on the back is working great. This piece can be worn as a pendant, too. See one picture for the idea (the chain is not included in the sale, for display only). The brooch measures 1-3/4" x 1-1/8". It weighs 14.6 grams.
