Item Details

Description

One-of-a-kind appliqued African American baby quilt, all hand stitched with hand embroidered accents. Measures 68" X 86" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint spots, the occasional popped quilting stitch and no wear. Dates back to the 1950's. There is rainbow quilting throughout at 5-6 stitches to the inch. The back is a floral print, the hand stitched binding is solid green, and the batting is thin. Came out of Union County, Ohio. Written provenance included.
