Henry Dunay 10.60ctw VVS1-VVS2/D-E Diamond, Carved Crystal & 18K Yellow Gold Egg Statue Numbered 4/12 - This immaculately crafted rare piece was made by world renowned, award-winning designer Henry Dunay. The piece is centered around a beautifully carved crystal egg which is framed in a solid 18k yellow gold frame decorated with Dunay's signature Sabi finish, and rests on a solid 18k yellow gold Sabi finished base. The frame is also punctuated with approximately 10.60ctw genuine VVS1-VVS2/D-E brilliant round cut diamonds, which also decorate each of the legs on the base, showing excellent attention to detail. Dunay started his career at the age of 14 and started his own firm in 1956, initially taking on work from other manufacturers (including Harry Winston) to support himself. He quickly found success and fame after winning the De Beers Diamond International Award, which showered images of his designs around the world. He has been awarded over 50 National and International Awards over fifty years, and is a four time winner of the Diamond International award. In 2013 "Lost Love", a carved aquamarine, diamond, platinum and gold sculpture by Dunay brought a realized price of $170,500 at auction, and rock crystal quartz and yellow gold mounted presentation bowl of a boat-shaped outline fetched $68,500. This is a once in a lifetime find, and is truly a museum or archive worthy piece. The 18k yellow gold frame and base are both signed "Dunay" along with the gold purity, and the crystal egg is also hand signed "Dunay" and numbered 4/12. Measurements: 3.5"H (including base) x 2"W.
