Description
Sign for the Chicago and North Western transportation company. 1 of 2 original entrance signs for Chicago and North Western Station in Chicago, which was built in 1911. Bounded by Madison/Lake/Clinton/Canal Streets. C&NW spared no expense of this luxurious station which featured a massive three story 20,000 square foot waiting room. Sign features a heavy bronze 24" x 24" plate with mounting buttons in four corners. Features an enameled Chicago & North Western Line color logo. Sign has been mounted into a larger wooden frame for display. Overall condition excellent. Important piece of American Railroad history. See photos. Frame measures 31” x 37.5”.
