Pre-Columbian Stone Axe Head, Imbabura area, Northern Highlands, Ecuador. Circa 500 B.C. - A.D. 500. Mottled green stone, long mounting ears, spade-shaped blade with rounded point. Collected 1965-1968 by Col. William R. Cameron. Exhibited: "Ecuadoran Artifacts" the Monterey Museum of Art, Monterey, CA, 1977, catalog #1. Provenance: A Long Island Collector; Auctions By The Bay, 11/1/2004, Lot 57. Size: 7.5'' x 7.25'' x 1.5'' (19 x 18 x 4 cm).
