Description
Sara Sax is one of the more prolific artists to work for Rookwood. Starting in 1896 and retiring in 1931, she is considered to have been the leader in Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Arts & Crafts movements. This vase is a fine example of Arts & Crafts with a beautiful wine matte glaze, incised stylized flowers with a spray of blue green matte glaze. It is nicely marked on the bottom and stands approx 5" tall. No chips cracks or cracking. Does have a line around the middle bottom which appears to be part of the manufacturing process.
