Antique c1870 Wool Hexagon Quilt, Reclining Diamonds, because of the way the diamond rosette seem to be lounging in their horizontal arrangement. Measures 62in by 64in. It is mostly wool challis and delaines. Many of the fabrics are specialty cut to the center to the center of the hexagon shape. Medium batting, an amazing paisley cotton print on the reverse, and finished with a twill tape edge.

Condition is fair. There is some edge wear. And there are some fabrics deteriorating, and possible fading. The green path may have originally been the same shade of green…or maybe not. The variation does give the textile a Modern aesthetic. New fabric sleeve hand applied along one edge for display purposes.
