Description
A choice Near Eastern bronze horse bit, c. 1000 - 800 BC, the cheek pieces in the form of horses. The mouthpiece is rigid with hammered ends, the check pieces are cast with loops for attachment of the rest of the tack. Well-preserved with attractive patination. Overall width: 5 7/8 in (14.8 cm); Check pieces: 3 5/8 x 3 1/4 in (9.3 x 8.43 cm).
