White Ground Star Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, first half 19th century, wool/wool/indigo-blue wefts, rare star Kazak with characteristic pattern and yellow C-Gul border, high-quality and exceptionally naturaldyes (very good aubergine tones), archaic stardesign with human and animal motifs, one of the rarest Caucasian patterns, absolutely unique, a similar rug was in the famous Ballard collection, approx. 220 x 152 cm, condition: (both head-ends minimal reduced, overall original condition with no repairs, for the high age good condition), (Literature Comp.: U.Schürmann, Teppiche aus dem Orient, p.132/133.
