A FOUR PIECE DANISH MODERN ROSEWOOD WALL HANGING ROYAL SYSTEM, CADO, POUL CADOVIUS, DESIGNER, 1960s, each of matching rectangular form with canted trim fronts and covered in nicely grained rosewood throughout, comprising a locking fall-front bar opening to an interior fitted with two adjustable open-faced drawers adjoining a compartment with black wire bottle stands, height: 16 3/4" width: 31 1/2" depth: 15"; a pair of sliding doors cabinets with semi-circular recessed handles opening to interiors fitted with two adjustable open-faced drawers, height: 41" width: 31 1/2" depth: 18 1/8"; together with a hinged doors cabinet opening to a single shelf interior, height: 20 1/4" width: 31 1/2" depth: 18 1/8", including; one key, twelve doweled rosewood brackets, twelve doweled rosewood wall battens. Note: Poul Cadovius (Danish 1911-2011), perhaps one of the most brilliant and original of mid-century interior furnishings designers yet also one of the least known. This is surprising considering that at the time of his death he had over 400 patents, won numerous international awards, had started his own furniture manufacturing business Royal Systems in 1945, had licensed manufacturing in several countries such as the US and Sweden, in mid-1960s purchased the Danish furniture production company France & Søn eventually changing the name to CADO employing hundreds of people as well as owning a boatyard where he designed yachts and sailboats.  The list goes on but it was with his innovative Royal System wall shelving and modular storage with its countless configurations that eventually proved to be his major contribution to the world and a pillar of success for Danish furniture design and manufacturing. Cadovius once said, "Most of us live on the bottom of a cube. If we put the walls even with the floor we get a lot of space to live on."

Each in good condition with normal light scratches, some tiny scattered marks, some small corner chips, dings, old tape residue, and a very faint ring mark on top of secretary but otherwise good shape.
