A VIETNAMESE/ANNAMESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN LIDDED EWER, SHIPWRECK ARTIFACT, ATTRIBUTED TO THE LATE LE DYNASTY (1428-1789), of four paneled baluster shape and surmounted with a square lid trimmed in enameled Greek key banding enclosing a ruyi collared bud finial, on a flaring neck with feather motif centering greek key patterns and lotus blossom sprays partitioned by molded lines, the spout with pearl among clouds ending with dragon tails disappearing at both ends is joined by "S" scroll billowing cloud brackets, the dragon scale flaming tip handle designed with three comfortable thumb rests for pouring ease is issued from a Ginko leaf painted panel side flanked by a magpie eating a lotus pod, opposed by a descending peacock pheasant into a vegetal spray centering raised on a lotus bloom and petal banded flaring rectangular foot. Normal condition for shipwreck excavated porcelains including but not limited to; surface dust/grime throughout, some small areas with barnacle residue, dulled surface spots, and crazing.
