Description
A NEOCLASSICAL REVIVAL OAK "WESTMINSTER CHIME ON EIGHT BELLS" CLOCK, LUND & BLOCKLEY, RETAILERS, LONDON, 1880-1900, the broken arch pediment over a recessed fluted and rosette motif frieze within block rosettes, over an arched clock face with three upper subdials, "Chime/Silent," "Slow/Fast," and "Westminster Chime on Eight Bells Chimes," within a leafy frond engravings, the enameled Roman numeral dial signed, "Lund & Blockley, 42 Pall Mall, To the Queen, London," flanked by pierced chime windows and engaged Corinthian order columns, raised on a breakfront cavetto stepped base. Height: 23" Width: 16" Depth: 11 1/2" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition
Dust, a loss of molding at one side grille, some minor repairs, surface wear, not working, pendulum likely replaced, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age.
