Description
A CHARLES X WHITE ALABASTER GILT BRONZE MOUNTED CLOCK, MIROY FRERES BROTHERS, RETAILERS, CIRCA 1830, the rectangular top with rope twist encircled finial over a dentil and beehive molding, above a carved mille raise and rose wreath encircling an enameled Roman numeral dial centering a machined bronze mount, above a leafy swag, flanked by carved medallions and florets, raised on a leaf encrusted cavetto molded rectangular plinth base with arrow and ribbon motif, on bun feet, the clockworks marked, "Miroy Fres. Btes. SGDG, A PARIS," with letter "M" over the numbers 1074, and 4-8. Height: 14 3/4" Width: 7 3/4" Depth: 4 3/4" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition
Lacking pendulum and key, surface soil and dust, mild patina on metal mounts, apparent repairs, some chips, and losses, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age.
