A GROUP OF TWO CHINESE HARDSTONE CARVINGS, AGATE CRAB BASKET AND LANDSCAPE BRUSH REST, 20TH CENTURY, comprising a red-orange agate sculpture of a rope twist trimmed bamboo basket with blossoming lily and pods and narcissus flowers among waves and two curious crabs crawl upward to the basket mouth, height: 3 1/4", width: 8", depth: 5"; and a pale green to buttery yellow soapstone brush rest carved in the form of a mountainous landscape sprouting trees and small pagodas, some with busy figures, stairwells leading to each elevation, raised on a pierced brownstone stand, height: 4 1/2", width: 8", depth: 2".
