DESCRIPTION: This characteristic Ansel Adams photograph from Inspiration Point is a seasonal counterpart to his infamous 'Clearing Winter Storm, 1938'. This particular print was made by his assistant Alan Ross around 1985, the year after Adams died. Robert K. Byers sourced prints for the Message from West Coast portfolio, which was published in 1986. This image was selected by Byers for the portfolio, making it likely that this print was a prototype that was never stamped or signed.
From the collection of Robert K. Byers, with the collection stamp and numbering verso. Acquired directly from the artist.
