Description

Title: LOT of 4, 19th CENTURY HAND CUT SCHERENSCHNITTE SCISSOR CLIPPINGS

Provenance/Additional Info: Lot of 4 nineteenth century hand cut scissor cuttings otherwise known as Scherenschnitte. Scenes were cut from white paper and applied to black paper in same fashion as some silhouettes. Pencil numbers written on backs suggest a series that tells the story of children at play with the final scene depicting the boy being punished. Exterior dimensions of each of the black sheets is approximately 4-3/4" X 3". Could be easily framed individually or as a group in a single frame.
