The two part hinged edge in red, black enamel surrounded by the marcasite with the three carved jadeites; the edge with rings for a handle. Marks to the two part hinged edge, possibly French silver hallmarks. Total weight 89.2 grams. Hinge pins and pin for top closure missing, many small marcasites missing. Width 4 5/8 inches (11.9 cm.).
