Finely detailed model of a Beetle whaleboat. Scale 1/2" + 1 foot. Built in 1987 by the Great Nantucket modeler Colin Gray. The vessel is shown on a planed and pegged deck with all of it's gear spread about on display including numbered oars, harpoons, lances, hook anchor, spade, boathook, line tubs, bucket, compass, hatched paddles, flag, etc... The carved hull carries five benches, ribs, floorboards and decks. fitted with a glass cover. Model dimensions 14" x 3" x 3". Case dimensions 18 1/2" x 10" x 8".
