Description

This cotton 1880's/1890's string star quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a wonderful cheddar background and deep gray sashing.It measures 82" X 82 and is in excellent condition, with some inconspicuous stains (camouflaged by the busy design), subtle mellowing in some of the gray, and no wear.There is quilting around the piecework and in straight line, grid, and basket weave designs quilted throughout at an even 10 stitches to the inch.The back and hand stitched, rolled binding are the same wonderful gray print, and the batting is thin.
