Description
Willy Ronis (French, 1910—2009) was a French photographer known for his poetic images of life in post-World War II Paris. He followed his passion into a career in photojournalism and became part of the great Parisian group of documentary photographers that also included Robert Doisneau. Similar to his friend and peer Henri Cartier-Bresson, Ronis found lyrical moments in mundane life. His photographs are often light-hearted and full of compassion, as they capture the French joie de vivre.
