Description

Only 50 specimens of the Leica IIIc K in the silver chrome version were delivered to the Air Force in the serial number range 387101 to 387150. It is one of the rarest versions of the Wehrmacht Leicas. The delivery took place on February 18th 1942 with shipment 29491. Together with these bodies, 50 pieces of Summitar 5 cm f/2 lenses were delivered, which besides the engraving "Luftwaffen-Eigentum" were also marked with "K" for "kältefest" (winterized). The entries for the lenses in the Leitz delivery book read "SOORE-K". With the camera offered here comes its original lens with No. 578208. Part of the engraving on the back of the camera topplate has unfortunately been scratched out. Otherwise camera and lens are in nice condition. White rubber stamp "K" on the shutter curtain is still present, but very difficult to read. An extreme rarity and almost impossible to find as a set like this.
