Item Details

Description

This lot contains two very old and well used kalimba thumb piano's with well handled and well used finger boards suggesting generations of field use. The largest measures 7 x 3.5 inches and is likely from the Luba or related ethnic group, Congo, Africa. Provenance: The Allan Stone collection , New York. The smaller measures 6.25 x 3.5 inches and features some wonderful incised designs, from the Chokwe peoples, Angola, Africa.
