A Pair of DouCai Dragon Cup.
ChengHua Period, Ming Dynasty.These DouCai cups are decorated with 'Dragon' and 'Ruyi' patterns, underglaze blue lines are used at mouth and stand parts. ChengHua Six-Character Marks in underglaze Blue with double squares and of the period on the bottom. A ZITAN tree carved case was inscribed with poetry by Emperor QianLong, 'BiDe' and 'LiangRun' marks are carved on it. 'TaiSyou eighth year May' characters ink-mark and 'Qinglong Tang' sign paper on the original wood box .Mr. Koyama Nagjiro, the founder of Japanese 'QingLong Tang' who also founded the Tokyo Art Club with Kawabuli Kichiro and Nezu Kaichiro in the 40s of the Meiji Era (1907). He was responsible for the ancient arts collection. The Tokyo Art Club went through four generations of Koyama family. And the Koyama family had a wealth of collections during this period, hence, became an important role in Japanese antiques collection.
