Description
5th-6th century AD. A round-section silver wire bracelet, ends coiled over the shank, with four amber beads. For similar cf. West. S., A Corpus of Anglo-Saxon Finds From Suffolk East Anglian Archaeology 84, Ipswich, 1998, p.176, fig.3. 36 grams total, 65mm without stand (2 1/2"). Formerly with a East Anglia gallery; acquired Bonhams, New Bond Street, London, 29 April 2009, lot 292 [part]; previously part of the estate of late J.S.N. Wright; accompanied by copies of the relevant Bonham's catalogue pages. [No Reserve]
